What kind of event is this? From October 5th to November 9th, the Halloween event takes place in Guild Wars 2. The Mad King Thorn enters the game, along with some interesting activities, including:
- A special dungeon where you face King Thorn
- The jumping puzzle “The Mad King’s Clock Tower”
- The Mad King’s Racecourse where you can race with beetles since 2018
- The PvP games “The Mad Inquisition” and “Reaping of the Grim Reaper“

How to earn gold? To quickly and easily earn gold during Halloween, you just need to enter the Mad King’s Labyrinth and find a “zerg group”. You can find one easily through the LFG tool.
After that, you run with this group through the different doors and events in the area and try to hit as many enemies as possible so that you qualify for the loot.
In the labyrinth, the enemies mainly drop “trick or treat bags”. These can then be sold at the trading post to earn gold.
How much gold is possible? Through this method, you can earn between 20 and 40 gold per hour, depending on intensity. This is more than you can earn through most regular gold farming methods.
From the aforementioned bags, there is a small chance of special rewards like skins that can only be obtained this way. Therefore, the bags tend to remain quite expensive throughout the event, but you usually make the most profit in the first days.
Tips for farming in the labyrinth: To be as successful as possible in farming, we have written down some tips for this farming method.
First, make sure you hit as many enemies as possible:
- Thief: Use the shortbow as your attacks jump from enemy to enemy
- Elementalist: The staff is especially effective for hitting many enemies
- Engineer: Use the flamethrower
- Warrior: With the greatsword, you can hit multiple enemies at once
- Mesmer: The greatsword is also effective here
- Necromancer: As a plague bringer, you have many AoE skills, the staff is a good weapon here
- Guardian: As a instigator, you can hit 5 targets in front of you with the tome. Although the staff has been nerfed, it is still effective.
- Ranger: With axe and torch, you hit the most enemies, and the Jaguars as a pet also have an AoE
- Revenant: As a renegade with shortbow and Mallyx skills, you effectively hit many targets.
Another trick is to reduce your gear so you deal less damage. In Guild Wars 2, you only need to hit an enemy once to get loot. If everyone deals less damage, more players get the loot.
Also, avoid opening the doors without a zerg. The more players are present, the more enemies appear during the event. Since you want to defeat as many enemies as possible, there should be as many players present as possible.
