Guild Wars 2 will receive on September 22 at the release time of Path of Fire the second major expansion. Here you will enter new areas of Tyria, including the Crystal Desert and northern Elona with Vabbi and the Domain of Palawa Joko.
But how do you get there? The areas were not part of the world of Guild Wars 2 before. And where and how can you get the first mount?
Path of Fire – How to get to the Crystal Desert and start the expansion
The Crystal Desert is a distant and inhospitable place. After all, peoples have perished there while searching for the “Ascension.” However, in Path of Fire, the journey into the desert is not particularly difficult.
You just need to start the new story chapter of your personal story and follow the instructions. Proceed as follows:
- Open the hero window with the “H” key or through the menu
- Select “My Story” and then “Path of Fire” from the displayed selection
- Once you have started the Path of Fire story this way, you will receive a letter in the game, which you will find in the mail menu.
- Open the letter and you will receive an invitation to Lion’s Arch.
- From Lion’s Arch, it will then automatically lead you to the Crystal Oasis in the Desert.
- Congratulations! You have taken the first step and can now enjoy the expansion Path of Fire!
How do I get my first mount?
The major highlights of Path of Fire are undoubtedly the new mounts. You can find four of them in the expansion. But how do you get the first mount? Easier than you think. To obtain your first mount, you simply need to complete the first section of Path of Fire in the starting area of the Crystal Oasis.
For this, you will receive a magnificent Raptor as your first mount. With this dino, you can race through the desert at high speed and perform extremely long horizontal jumps. Additionally, there are other things you can do with the riding dino (and the other mounts):
- You can participate in mount races at the Oasis Amnoon.
- Thanks to the special movement skills of the various mounts, you can reach previously inaccessible areas and thus achieve unique accolades and treasures.
- Continue to complete quests and story missions to earn mastery points for your mounts. They will then level up and learn new abilities. Mounts work similarly to the masteries in Heart of Thorns or Season 3 of the Living Story.
