This new version will have exclusive content that you will miss out on if you play on PS4 and Xbox One. However, there is good news for PC players. The exclusive content for next-gen consoles will also be available for the PC version of GTA Online.
In the new financial report, Take-Two explained (via PCGamer.com):
“For the GTA Online community, the journey continues on next generation. With further new updates including additional content exclusive to the new consoles and PCs.”
Why is this also available for PC?
That’s why this is possible: GTA Online is still very popular and is therefore being supported further. PCs can be easily upgraded and are thus prepared for performance enhancements that may come to GTA Online. The current-gen, meaning PS4 and Xbox One, is limited in its performance.
So it’s no surprise that PC players will also receive the content that Rockstar planned for next-gen.
The exclusive content is not yet known. It is assumed that GTA Online for next-gen will at least be technically improved. A visual refresh will also be part of it.
What’s next for GTA Online?
Rockstar said: It is already known that a major update is upcoming for GTA Online. And it’s not just big, but the biggest update of all time.
An important part of this update will likely be the new heist. This heist is special because it will take place “in a completely new location”. The team already revealed this in the announcement. What location that will be and what the heist is about is still unclear.
