The new GTA 5 Online update is now live and brings the crazy transformation races into play. However, there is no sign of new cars.
Anyone logging into GTA 5 Online from today can earn a lot of money in the new races. To make the transformation races appealing to players, there are now double GTA$ and RP to be earned. And it’s fun too, because the Transform Races bring a lot of variety and require your skill in various modes.
Transform Races bring variety
Today, on October 17, the transformation races were activated in GTA 5 Online. They are an expansion to the Cunning Stunts update.
So far, there are 15 different race tracks where you must prove your skills on water, on the road, off-road, and in the air. Your vehicles switch between cars, motorcycles, jet skis, airplanes, and other vehicles. The changes happen “on the fly” as you reach certain checkpoints on the tracks.
When you reach a checkpoint with the vehicle, a smoke cloud appears, and your means of transport transforms. For a brief period, there is then no contact between vehicles, boats, or airplanes.
A welcome change from the “normal” races, where focus was on a specific type of vehicle.
No download, no new cars
Anyone who wants to participate in the races just needs to sign up for GTA 5 Online. The transformation races are available for the platforms PS4, Xbox One, and PC. No download is required to participate in the races.
So far, there are no new vehicles in the game. Many gamers expected that there would be cool cars, motorcycles, boats, or airplanes for the special races that could be used to participate in the races. But there is currently no sign of that at the car dealers in GTA 5 Online.
However, in a roadmap for the autumn, Rockstar announced new cars that you will soon be able to buy. This includes the Coil Cyclone and the fearsome Vigilante.
