Was the GTA 5 screenshot perhaps prettier than a real photo?
The Hotel Figueroa might be familiar to some of you, as the exterior facade is often used as advertising space for new games like Skyrim or Grand Theft Auto or for events like the E3,. An employee of the hotel supposedly had to provide the hotel’s website with new images showcasing Figueroa from the outside, but the graphics from GTA 5 played a trick on him.
Screenshot instead of Photo
If you search for the Hotel Figueroa via Google image search, you might come across screenshots from GTA 5. Most players are likely aware that the game’s graphics can be stunning even without modifications. But so stunning that it gets uploaded on a hotel website and used to represent Los Angeles, that’s something new! See for yourself how well Los Angeles Los Santos fits into the “picture”.
While this may look like a nice picture, one should be able to tell that it is not a “real picture”. Perhaps this was just a joke by the hotel admin or a small advertising campaign – if it was a campaign, it definitely worked. Because after a Reddit user posted the image online, so many GTA 5 community websites rushed to it that the hotel’s website probably had its highest user peak of the year.
In the meantime, the screenshot has been replaced on the website with a “real” photo. You can see the new photo on the Hotel Figueroa’s website. What do you think? Press stunt or a tired website admin?
