The German Twitch streamer Domenic “Chefstrobel” Strobel proudly got a Pokémon tattooed on his thigh, but then his colleagues questioned him about it. It turns out that he knows almost nothing about the Pokémon.
Who is it about? The Twitch streamer Chefstrobel is one of the most successful streamers in the German space. Over 650,000 people follow him on his Twitch channel, and in the last year, he had an average of 696 viewers during his Twitch streams (via SullyGnome).
Together with his Twitch colleagues Max “Trymacs” Stemmler and Wieland “Rumathra” Welte, he is currently hosting a Trio Soullink Challenge in the game Pokémon FireRed. The challenging task with special rules repeatedly tests the knowledge of the three Twitch streamers.
In a past Twitch stream, it became apparent that especially Chefstrobel knows very little about a certain Pokémon, despite having a tattoo of it on his thigh.
“One of the best tattoos in Germany”
What Pokémon is it? It is the Pokémon Gengar. It belongs to the first Pokémon generation and is one of the most popular pocket monsters. Yet apparently Chefstrobel only got Gengar tattooed because he thinks it looks nice, not because he plays with it much or knows a lot about it.
Trymacs and Rumathra asked Chefstrobel a total of three questions after he had previously stood out in the challenge several times due to his lack of knowledge about Pokémon:
- What weaknesses does Gengar have? – Chefstrobel mentioned Dark, which is correct, but Ghost has a weakness against Ghost as well.
- What is Gengar good against? – Chefstrobel stated, correctly, Ghost and Psychic. By glancing at the chat, he learned that Gengar is not just a Ghost type, but also a Poison type.
- Trymacs asked the last question: How much damage does Gengar do to a Rattata? Assuming a Gengar attacks with the move Astonish. – Chefstrobel said he would then deal “normal damage” to the Pokémon, which is incorrect. Since a Rattata is a Normal type and Ghost attacks do not hit Normal Pokémon, a Gengar would actually deal no damage to a Rattata.
The answer to the last question made Rumathra and Trymacs burst into laughter. Rumathra said: “That’s crazy” (on twitch.tv).
Trymacs concluded: “You have a giant Gengar on your thigh, a killer Gengar. You went to a professional tattoo artist, where no one else can get an appointment, you used your connections and really got one of the best Gengar tattoos in Germany, I must say, you have a beautiful Gengar on your thigh, but it is just crazy.” (on twitch.tv)
Twitch streamer Chefstrobel is not the only one who has made a blunder regarding a tattoo. A Twitch viewer got the names of major German Twitch streamers tattooed, to which streamer Zarbex reacted. However, he had to notice an error in the tattoo: Viewer gets names of Twitch streamers tattooed – but unfortunately, one of them is wrong
