The streamer Kilian “Tanzverbot” Heinrich has made a bet with Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris: He must stream on Twitch 14 times in September. He absolutely cannot lose, but it’s going to be tight.
Which streamer is it about? The Berlin-based Tanzverbot started uploading videos on YouTube from his childhood bedroom. Today he is one of the larger streamers on German Twitch with 777,000 followers.
In November 2023, however, Tanzverbot admitted that he had been living beyond his means while trying to keep up with the lifestyle of people like MontanaBlack. Now he has high tax debts and is broke. All of this for expensive T-shirts that don’t even fit him properly.
Twitch colleague MontanaBlack has now offered him a way to get 1,000 euros – but Tanzverbot has to do something for it.
MontanaBlack bets with Tanzverbot – and wants to lose
What kind of bet is this? MontanaBlack proposed a bet to Tanzverbot at the end of August 2024: If the Berliner goes live on Twitch 14 times in September, he will get 1,000 euros. If he fails, he has to pay 1,000 euros to MontanaBlack.
Condition: They must be “normal” streams; simply going online for a minute 14 times won’t count.
MontanaBlack knows, of course, that Tanzverbot in his current situation definitely doesn’t want to incur any betting debts. However, the streamer from Buxtehude doesn’t really want the money from Tanzverbot either; secretly he hopes to lose.

The bet is meant to be a motivational aid for Tanzverbot, who has not reached a three-digit sum in his monthly streamed hours since May 2022 (via SullyGnome). Full-time streamers often go live 5-6 days a week for 6-8 hours.
1,000 euros likely won’t hurt MontanaBlack much. He recently revealed what his monthly salary actually looks like.
Day 10: “I can’t do it anymore”
What is the status of the bet? On September 24, 2024, Tanzverbot completes his 11th stream of the month. He still has to go live 3 more times in the remaining 6 days of the month, every other day. However, it seems that obstacles keep getting in his way.
He explained on Wednesday, September 11 (stream number 4): He wanted to stream the Monday before, but it was 16 degrees and raining in Hamburg – he would have surely caught a cold in an IRL stream.
However, the streamer described his dilemma: Mathematically, he only had to stream about every 2nd day, which is actually easy. But as soon as he misses a week, he suddenly has to go live for 7 consecutive days.
After 10 days, the first signs of exhaustion are already showing in the streamer. In the stream from September 23, he explained: He can’t take it anymore; his mind won’t cooperate.
But giving up is not an option for Tanzverbot. The tax office is once again coming after him for repayments for the year 2022, a year in which he says he earned excellently. He absolutely does not want to pay the 1,000 euros to MontanaBlack. He wants to stay on track. He also doesn’t want to fall back into old habits in October and take a break (via Twitch).
Overall, Tanzverbot is holding up well. He has actually been live almost every second day in September so far. If he puts in a little more effort now, he will surely secure the 1,000 euros.
