The YouTuber and Twitch-streamer Viktor “iBlali” or “Vik” Roth has been a full-time content creator his whole life. Now he is at a point where he wants to change his content. One reason for this is that he has burned himself out on streaming on Twitch.
How did iBlali burn himself out on streaming? iBlali is one of the first German YouTubers and has been a content creator his entire life. During his time, he has changed his content multiple times, and now it seems that another moment has come for that. Streaming on Twitch is no longer fun for him, he says.
During his livestreams, he felt pressured that the streamed content should generate a click-worthy YouTube video. Nowadays, it is normal for Twitch streamers to upload their livestreams again in edited form on YouTube. This increases reach, but also brings in more money through YouTube clicks.
iBlali says that he felt so stressed by this pressure to produce a financially rewarding YouTube video that he stopped enjoying the stream itself:
Never stop a running system. No matter how much you don’t want to anymore. That’s how I completely ruined streaming for myself over the years. So, I really didn’t have any fun anymore.

He continues, saying that he would have liked to have streamed the game Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 but knew that the corresponding video would likely have only gotten “just” 30,000 views. Too few in the mindset of the YouTuber back then.

What does iBlali have planned for the future? In the future, iBlali wants to regain the fun of streaming and shift the focus away from click-worthy YouTube videos. He wants to play what he enjoys in the stream and mainly publish video essays on YouTube. These will be diverse, including opinion videos or also retrospectives.
Specifically, this means for his two channels: On “iBlali” he wants to bring irregular uploads with gaming content from the Twitch streams and on “VIK” video essays.
However, the YouTuber is also aware that if he changes his content now, he will have less income. Therefore, he relies on two things: sponsorships from advertising partners and his own jewelry company.
In the future, these should be his main sources of income so that he can make his profession, streaming, more of a hobby again.
What’s behind this? A YouTuber who experiences a kind of burnout feeling in his profession is unfortunately not a new phenomenon today.
