This week, the German MMORPG Teredor revealed new details regarding an engine switch and the release on Steam. Additionally, there were news about Throne and Liberty, Corepunk, and WoW, where Chris Metzen has officially returned.
The highlights of the week:
- Teredor is a German MMORPG with a very special monetization model without subscription, but also without a shop. They have now announced the switch from Unity to Unreal Engine 5, new tests, English language support, and generally the release on Steam (via Teredor).
- Throne and Liberty has provided new insights into the endgame content, world bosses, and the first PvE dungeon.
- Corepunk mixes WoW and LoL to create an MMORPG with a very interesting crafting system. The developers have announced that they will enter early access later in 2023.
The scandal of the week: Chris Metzen is back. The father of Warcraft is working full-time at Blizzard again and is supposed to manage the entire franchise.

Hype around WoW Classic, new MMORPG to Horizon: Zero Dawn
This is what happened with the major MMORPGs:
- After years of pleading, hunters in WoW finally get a buff for the entire raid. There was also criticism of a Night Elf quest that was recently released.
- WoW fans are playing the new hardcore servers and asking themselves: “Why am I having fun?”. Additionally, a YouTuber explained why gold sellers were particularly pleased with the WoW token in Classic.
- Final Fantasy XIV has released the patch notes for the upcoming update 6.5 (via FFXIV).
- Black Desert now has permanent season servers that you can activate with the help of a ticket. There were also new events and some class adjustments in an update (via BDO).
- Until October 10, there is an event in ESO, through which you can earn additional rewards and even a free house for the entire community (via ESO).
- Lost Ark celebrates strong player numbers on Steam after they released the new jump servers.

This is what happened with the MMORPGs in development:
- An insider revealed new details about the Horizon MMORPG being developed by NCSoft.
- Aion 2 is expected to be released in 2025 and also come to PC in the West.
- Eternal Tombs, which presented a change in its combat system last month, has now released a large demo video with a lot of information (via YouTube).
- BitCraft has announced the alpha for 2024 (via Twitter).
