With Yoimiya, the second archer joins the game Genshin Impact, dealing fire damage. We at MeinMMO show you how to effectively use Yoimiya with her unique playstyle.
Who is Yoimiya? Yoimiya is the owner of the shop “Naganohara’s Fireworks” and everyone in Inazuma knows who she is. No matter where she goes, the residents always welcome her with joy. Yoimiya is known for always being there to help everyone with advice and finding a solution to every problem. The archer also takes care of fireworks for festivals or special occasions, which leave everyone amazed every time.

Yoimiya’s Abilities
What attacks and abilities does she possess? As a normal attack, Yoimiya shoots up to five arrows. With her heavy blow, she executes a precise shot with higher damage and higher accuracy. Depending on the charge time, the attack causes different effects:
- Charge Level 1: Shoots a fire arrow that deals Pyro damage
- Charge Level 2: Creates up to 3 fire arrows depending on the charge time, which are fired along with the shot. They automatically seek out nearby enemies and deal Pyro damage
Yoimiya’s elemental ability is called “Niwabi Fire Dance.” This converts the arrows for 10 seconds and causes them to deal increased Pyro damage. During the duration of the elemental ability, Yoimiya cannot reach charge level 2 with her heavy blow. The effect ends prematurely if she is switched out.
Additionally, she has the special ability “Ryuukin Stonebreaker.” There, the archer fires fireworks rockets at enemies and deals Pyro area damage. Furthermore, a struck enemy is marked. The effect “Ryuukin Flame” then activates for 10 seconds:
- It triggers an explosion when hitting marked enemies with normal attacks, heavy blows, dropping attacks, elemental abilities, and special abilities from all team members, except for Yoimiya herself, causing Pyro area damage
- If a marked enemy is defeated faster than the duration of the effect, the effect automatically jumps to a nearby enemy with the remaining duration
- There is a cooldown of 2 seconds between the explosions
- The effect ends immediately if Yoimiya is defeated
Worthwhile Constellations
What do the constellations bring? This listing shows you the most important constellations and what bonuses they provide.
- 1st Constellation, “Ryuukin in Red”: Extends the duration of Ryuukin Flame by 4 seconds. Additionally, during the duration of Ryuukin Flame, Yoimiya’s attack increases by 20% for 20 seconds if the enemy defeated is affected by the flame created by Yoimiya.
- 2nd Constellation, “Flaring Parade”: When a critical hit is made with Yoimiya’s Pyro damage, her Pyro damage increases by 25% for 6 seconds. The effect remains, even if Yoimiya is no longer on the field.
- 4th Constellation, “Expert Pyrotechnics”: When a Ryuukin Flame explodes, the cooldown of Niwabi Fire Dance decreases by 1.2 seconds.
- 6th Constellation, “Naganohara Meteor Shower”: With a 50% chance, an additional arrow is shot during normal attacks and deals 60% of the actual damage of the normal attack.
Like many 5-star characters, Yoimiya will also deal sufficient damage with C0. C0 means “Constellation 0,” which defines that she has 0 constellations unlocked. If you plan to keep the archer on the field longer and deal damage, then C1 would be worth it. C2 is very practical because you can switch out Yoimiya without worry to quickly heal her with another character. This way, you can apply other elements to enemies and then switch to Yoimiya to trigger more reactions and/or deliver the final blow to the enemies.
Yoimiya’s Talents
Which talents should you level up first? For Yoimiya, it’s worth leveling up her normal attack first. All five damage phases scale nearly double from level one to ten. For example, at level one, with a normal shot, she does 35.64% damage, and at level ten, 63.59%. She benefits most from her normal attack, as her elemental ability is meant to enhance this and not to trigger elemental reactions, as is common with many other characters.
To further increase the damage of the normal attack, you can then level up her elemental ability. However, if you want Ryuukin Flame to deal more damage, choose her special ability. The damage output of the special ability is increased by 101.76% between levels one and ten, while the flame can deal 97.6% more damage.
What are Yoimiya’s passive talents? Her passive ability “Instigator” emphasizes the importance of her normal attacks. This increases Pyro damage by 2% while Yoimiya is using Niwabi Fire Dance and hitting with normal attacks. This effect is stackable 10 times, meaning she can receive a maximum of 20% additional Pyro damage.
Another of her passive abilities is called “Summer Heat.” With this, the attack of all team members who were near Yoimiya after she has used Ryuukin Stonebreaker increases by 10% for 15 seconds. Additionally, Summer Heat works together with Instigator. For each stack of Instigator, the attack increases by an additional 1%. This allows for a maximum of 20% attack bonus for other team members.
“Inflammable Coordination” enables you to recover 100% of the consumed materials when crafting embellishments, ornaments, and landscape decorations. Yoimiya is the first character with this ability.
Suitable Weapons for Yoimiya
What weapons do we recommend for Yoimiya? Since she mainly operates with normal attacks, the best weapon is the “Thundering Pulse“. This 5-star weapon will be available in the weapon banner from August 10 for three weeks. The weapon increases attack by 20% and the damage of normal attacks by 12/24/40% at 1/2/3 stacks, respectively. You receive these stacks through “Lightning-Strike Seal.” You get one seal when you attack with normal attacks (5 seconds) and elemental abilities (10 seconds), and one if your elemental energy is below 100%. Overall, this allows for a boost of 60% more attack.

In addition to the Thundering Pulse, the “Rusty Bow” is also an option. At refinement level five, it is only slightly behind the Thundering Pulse. It then increases the damage dealt by normal attacks by 80% but lowers the damage from heavy blows by 10%. However, this loss is quite manageable in exchange.
If you have bad luck with critical rate on artifacts, you can equip the “Greenery Jade Bow” as help. When this bow is leveled up, it receives a bonus to critical rate. Additionally, at refinement level 1, it has a 50% chance to create a wind eye that sucks in enemies and deals them damage equal to 40% of the attack every 0.5 seconds for 4 seconds. This comes with a 14-second cooldown.
Other 5-star bows that Yoimiya can use are the “Skyward Harp” and the “Amos’ Bow“.
What Free-to-Play alternative is there? The “Hamayumi” bow is the best alternative for Yoimiya. The damage of her normal attacks is increased by 16%, and her heavy blow damage by 12%. Furthermore, the effect is doubled as soon as Yoimiya has 100% elemental energy. Unlike the Thundering Pulse, you need to ensure that your elemental energy is filled here.
If you’re still at the very beginning of the game, you can rely on weapons like “Stone Sling” or “Raven Bow“.
Artifacts that benefit Yoimiya
Which artifacts give Yoimiya the most? Combined with the Thundering Pulse, the “Memorial of Shimenawa” set is perfectly suitable:
- 2-piece set bonus: Increases attack by 18%
- 4-piece set bonus: Normal attacks and dropping attacks are increased by 50% for 10 seconds if Yoimiya has 15 elemental energy points and can use them.
Since the set takes 15 elemental energy points and the Thundering Pulse activates a Lightning-Strike Seal when the elemental energy is not completely filled, these two components complement each other perfectly. Also, both effects last for 10 seconds each, so they end simultaneously. However, even without the bow, you can equip Yoimiya with this set.
As an alternative, you can also combine two artifact sets:
- 2-piece set bonus “Gladiator’s Encore” / Memorial of Shimenawa: Increases attack by 18%
- 2-piece set bonus “Burning Pyro Witch“: Increases Pyro damage by 15%
With this, you increase Yoimiya’s attack and simultaneously the Pyro damage for her elemental or special ability. Furthermore, this serves as a safer option for the Hamayumi bow, as no elemental points are deducted by the artifact set.
What stats should the artifacts have? Since Yoimiya is an attacker, it is recommended that the clock has the main stat attack %. The chalice should ideally have the main stat Pyro damage %. If you have no luck with spheres, you can also go for attack %. The crown can depend on the under-stats of the artifacts with critical rate (CR) or critical damage (CD).
The artifacts should primarily include attack %, CR, and CD as under-stats. A bit of recharge rate for the elemental points of her special ability should not be missing.
Characters that harmonize with Yoimiya
Which teams does Yoimiya fit into? She can particularly benefit from characters that cast her element on enemies without them needing to be on the field.
Characters that could harmonize with Yoimiya include:
- Xingqiu for his special and elemental ability, both of which remain active even when he is switched out. This way, Yoimiya often has the chance to trigger the elemental reaction “Vaporize” with her Pyro damage on the Hydro effect.
- Barbara can serve as an alternative with her elemental ability and effectively heal.
- Fischl can summon a raven with her abilities that continuously applies the Electro effect on enemies, even if she is not on the field.
- Kazuha or Sucrose can serve as effective supporters, helping Yoimiya recharge her special ability or deal more damage.
- Bennett helps further enhance Yoimiya’s attack with his special ability while healing her simultaneously.
- Kaeya also possesses an elemental ability that remains when he is switched out. This can be used together with Xingqiu to freeze enemies and then apply Yoimiya with her Pyro arrows to trigger the melt reaction.
- Yoimiya could function as support for Ganyu. Once Yoimiya uses her special ability and applies her flame to enemies, Ganyu can continuously trigger elemental reactions. Since Ganyu’s damage output is very high, she should be able to quickly defeat enemies to allow the flame to jump to the next foe.
Possible team suggestions:
- Xingqiu
- Fischl
- Bennett
- Sayu, for healing and additional attacks
- Xingqiu
- Kaeya
- Zhongli, for his shield
- and Qiqi for consistent healing
- Fischl
- Ganyu
- Xingqiu
- Bennett
It doesn’t hurt to pay attention to troop bonuses, such as the attack boost of 25% when two Pyro characters are on the team.
If you play Yoimiya optimally, you first use her elemental ability. At the end of its duration, you use your special ability and then switch to a teammate. This way, you can effectively continue to attack during the cooldown of her abilities. If you invest in Yoimiya, she could become the strongest single-target DPS that exists in Genshin Impact so far.
What do you think about these builds? Do you have other suggestions? Have you already been lucky enough to welcome Yoimiya into your team, or don’t you want to pull her at all? What do you think of Yoimiya? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
