There are in Genshin Impact a total of 46 special chests on the island of Tsurumi and even one on Watatsumi. In this guide, we will show you when and where you can find the chests.
What are “special chests”? With the Patch 2.2, special chests were introduced into the game. These chests contain blueprints for decorations that you can use in the Housing system. These blueprints allow you to learn how to craft certain items.
Where can you find special chests? 46 special chests are scattered across the island of Tsurumi. You can only find all of these chests if you take on the Quest line from Tsurumi, visiting the island day by day.
Especially in the east of the island, you will be able to find plenty of blueprints. In the pictures, we marked where you can find the chests, following a specific pattern:
- Asterisks not marked with a colored circle indicate chests that are available from Day 1.
- Asterisks that are circled in red indicate chests that you will find on the island starting from Day 2.
- Asterisks that are circled in yellow indicate chests that you will find on the island starting from Day 3.

There is one chest that hides particularly well: You will find this chest south of the Chirai Shrine. Many candles and altars are around there.
If you use the teleporter located north of the Moshiri Shrine and then continue north, you should be there in no time.
The special chest is located in a crack in a wall and is additionally hidden by a small bush. If you remove the bush with sword strikes, you should be able to spot the treasure right away.

A secret special chest on Watatsumi
You need to unlock the path to the special chest: First, you need to complete the world quest “Heart of Watatsumi,” which is given to you by the NPC named Tsuyuko. Tsuyuko is located at the Mouun Shrine, which is just behind the Sangonomiya Shrine.

Where is the special chest on the island of Watatsumi? This treasure chest is a bit hidden: it is located in the cave, the entrance of which is to the east of the Sangonomiya Shrine and which you unlocked during the world quest.
More specifically, the entrance is right of two waterfalls that are situated directly next to each other.
When you enter the cave, you should head to the lowest level and then walk to the left. Use your elemental sight while doing this, and you can thereafter discover a breakable wall hidden under a ledge.
Destroy this wall and retrieve the blueprints from the chest behind it.
