RTX 5090: Release and price
When will the RTX 5090 be released? The GeForce RTX 5090 is set to be released on January 30, 2025. The RTX 5080 will also be released on January 30, 2025.
How much does the RTX 5090 cost? The suggested retail price in Germany is 2,329 euros (including VAT). This is about 600 euros more than its predecessor, the GeForce RTX 4090.
Currently, however, reports indicate that availability will be very poor. Expect prices for the RTX 5090 to be significantly higher.

Where can you buy the RTX 5090? In Germany, Notebooksbilliger.de is the official partner of Nvidia. You will likely find the so-called “Founders Edition” (FE) there. Models from third-party manufacturers (custom designs) will also be available at other retailers, such as Mindfactory or Alternate. Some shops, including Caseking, are already listing the graphics cards.

RTX 5090: Benchmarks and tests
What testers say: In the first independent tests, it shows that the RTX 5090 is currently the fastest graphics card on the market:
- Generally, the GeForce RTX 5090 is on average 25% ahead of the RTX 4090. With DLSS enabled, there are even a few more performance percent. This is reported by the German magazine ComputerBase.de.
- PCGamesHardware mentions a total increase of 22 percent and 28 percent in Ultra HD when testing the GeForce RTX 5090.
- In the test by GameStar for the GeForce RTX 5090, the gain is even slightly larger, at 30 to 40 %.
Thus, the RTX 5090 cannot fully keep up with the official benchmarks that Nvidia itself presented to the public (via nvidia.com).
An important aspect of performance is also the DLSS 4.0 technology. At the launch of DLSS 4.0, around 75 games are expected to be supported. However, in the coming months, the number of supported games is likely to steadily increase.
