For the World Championships Preview, Games Workshop has presented a load of new content for the worlds of Warhammer, including new miniatures for the tabletop. One of these new miniatures is a legendary Space Marine that comes with an entire campaign.
Who is the hero?
- Lieutenant – or now: Captain Demetrian Titus is the hero from the video games Space Marine 2.
- As an Astartes of the Ultramarines, he is one of the Empire’s most loyal fighters and fights against various threats in the games, including Orks, Chaos, and Necrons.
- After Titus was still a Captain in the first part, he was sent into exile at the end and became the Black Shield of the Deathwatch. Upon his return, he received a new chance as a Lieutenant of the Ultramarines. Now he has ascended again to Captain of the Second Company.
These are the new figures: During the World Championships Preview, Games Workshop presented the new model for Titus, again in his role as Captain. The figure shows Titus without his helmet, wearing a ceremonial fur cloak, the emblem of the Ultramarines as back decoration, and armed with a Bolter and a chainsword, the traditional weapon of the Space Marines.
The figure will be available for pre-order soon and is expected to be released in 2026 – even though Titus just received his own miniature as Lieutenant Titus at the end of 2024. Along with Captain Titus, several other models that are meant to accompany him as an entourage will also be introduced. Here too, there are several known figures:
- Standard bearer Valorem Gadriel, who already accompanied you in Space Marine 2 as Sergeant.
- Titus’ old mentor, veteran sergeant Metaurus, whom you might remember from the Warhammer episode of Secret Level.
- Some human supporters like Commodore Gaus Silva or Legatin Amelia Minvervas, both important leaders of Ultramar.
- As opponents, several units of the Necrons will also be included, such as Nekrosor Ammentar, the origin of the Destruction Curse, and the C’tan fragment of the Harbinger of Death.
The figures are not just standalone miniatures that you can incorporate into your armies, but come directly with their own campaign, the 500 World. In 4 books, a little background story is told, you will find pictures and a large campaign map, as well as some missions that you can play. All of this even has its own cinematic:
“Where is my boy Acheran?”
If you have played Space Marine 2, you might – like some fans on Reddit – wonder what happened to the original Captain of the Second Company of the Ultramarines, Captain Acheran.
In the official introduction, it merely states that there is usually only one way a post can be reassigned. More precise information about Acheran’s fate is supposed to be released sometime this week on November 10.
In the cinematic, Titus himself might already give a hint about what could have happened, as he says: “Only in death does duty end.” Though even that might not be entirely correct, because some Space Marines cannot even truly die.
During the preview, Games Workshop not only presented new figures for the hobby but also some new series from the various Warhammer worlds. As with most animations, however, you will need Warhammer+ to watch them, a subscription service with various benefits like exclusive miniatures and access to Warhammer TV.
