Who is the “face of the Game Awards”? This refers to Geoff Keighley, who has been known as the host of the Game Awards since 2014 and of shows like the Opening Night Live of gamescom or the Summer Game Fest. His face is practically the figurehead of major gaming events.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) dated November 17, 2025, Geoff Keighley invited followers to take a look at the nominees for the Game Awards 2025 on Steam. An observant Twitter user named Wario64 noticed something: The host has only one game on his wishlist.
The Twitter user directly asked Keighley: “what’s the 1 game that you have wishlisted?” However, he only replied with an emoji that could imitate a furtive glance.

Gamers think it is Half-Life 3: Fans have long harbored hope that Half-Life 2 would get a sequel. Recently, this hope was reignited – the community believes that besides news about the Steam Machine, Half-Life 3 will also be announced.
Keighley returned to the post some time later and shared another screenshot. This showed his wishlist. The only title on it: Dadlympics. According to the description on Steam, it’s a game where “Dad jokes meet physics-based mayhem”
But Wario64 also took a closer look and noticed: The game was added to Keighley’s wishlist on November 18, 2025 – one day after the original post. If Keighley did not remove the game from his wishlist and add it again, this cannot be it.
Players believe Keighley is hiding something from them – and the game that is really on his wishlist is Half-Life 3. InfiniteGrunt urges the host of the Game Awards to tell them (on X ): “Geoff. What’s the wishlisted game. WHAT IS IT GEOFF.”
Is an announcement of Half-Life 3 conceivable? Geoff Keighley is deliberately having fun with the community and intentionally stirring the speculation about possible announcements at the Game Awards. Whether the game on his wishlist is Half-Life 3 or not remains pure speculation.
