Capcom unveiled a new PS4 trailer for Monster Hunter World (PS4, Xbox One, PC). For the first time, a female hunter is shown, along with new gear. Additionally, these 4 weapons are showcased in action: Dual Blades, Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, and Light Bowgun.
In the new PS4 trailer for Monster Hunter World, some new gameplay elements can be observed. It is actually the previously known demo, where a hunter is tracking the Anjanath.
This time, the hunter has been replaced by a huntress, who wears Anjanath armor at the beginning. Throughout the video, more gear is presented such as the Rocksteady Mantle: a cloak that gives the hunter steadiness while shooting.

This demo also includes a demonstration of 4 weapon types:
- Dual Blades: Two short swords that are fast and mobile.
- Insect Glaive: A type of pole that allows a hunter to launch into the air and attack from all sides. The connected insect can collect extracts that grant temporary buffs to the wielder.
- Switch Axe: A rough, slow axe that hits monsters with great force.
- Light Bowgun: A mix of a bow and a firearm designed for ranged combat.

Gameplay Video: Frogs, Dual Blades, Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, and Light Bowgun
Here is the gameplay, originally from a livestream by PlayStation Hongkong:
In the video, the effects of the “Shock Frogs” can be seen. When the hunter kicks or shoots the frogs, they explode and leave a gas. Once the monster enters the gas cloud, it is shocked for a brief moment. Capcom aims to create a living world with Monster Hunter World, where the environment has a strong influence on gameplay.
Monster Hunter World is expected to be released for PS4 and Xbox One before March 2018.
