The nominations for the German Developer Award 2025 are set. Also nominated is the YouTube show Game Two, but for a special award.
What kind of award is this? The German Developer Award is given annually to successful development studios of the respective year. There are various categories that honor both the developers and the games themselves. The award is organized by the German association games.nrw.
This year, the German Developer Award will take place on December 2, 2025, in Cologne. Among the nominations: A YouTube show, whose future was initially very uncertain.
Game Two could receive a special award
What happened with Game Two? Game Two had a tough year. In June 2024, public broadcasting announced it would discontinue the gaming show after another year. Consequently, the gaming show had to lay off many of its employees and didn’t know how to proceed.
In September 2025, however, Game Two’s plan was set: A new team takes on old and new concepts and the “broadcasting” is shifted to YouTube.
What is Game Two nominated for? Since Game Two managed to save itself on YouTube and the first video was well received by the community, it is clear that the gaming show will continue. Its persistence is now apparently rewarded with a nomination in the category “Special Jury Award”. Joining them are the initiatives Giving Back and Accessibility and FemDevsMeetup nominated.
