The everyday life of an actor can sometimes be boring – for instance, when one has to sit in makeup for hours and remain still. In the case of a recent film monster, it becomes clear that a mobile console like the Steam Deck can be worth its weight in gold.
Jacob Elordi plays the famous monster in the newly released adaptation of the novel Frankenstein by Guillermo del Toro. For an actor, this is a great honor, as past versions of the character have become quite iconic – especially that of Boris Karloff.
But anyone who wishes to play the monster must endure long sessions in makeup. It is only through the painstaking work of the makeup artists that an actor transforms into the eerie figure.
In Jacob Elordi’s case, there were daily appointments lasting around 10 hours. For most of us, it would already be difficult to sit that long and do nothing. It becomes even worse when one cannot move much, as diligent hands apply layer after layer of elaborate makeup.
However, Jacob Elordi found a way to cope. In a short video that Netflix posted on x.com, it can be seen that the actor is a gamer and conveniently had a Steam Deck with him.
The Monster in the Fight Against Boredom
What does the video show? Essentially, Netflix aimed to showcase the elaborate transformation process in fast motion. It is noticeable that Elordi repeatedly checks his phone, reads a book, and plays on a Steam Deck.
Particularly striking is the case of the console, which is dipped in black and green colors. And the question of what exactly Elordi is playing on the Steam Deck inevitably arises. Users on Reddit are discussing:
- “I absolutely need to know what he is playing during that ten-hour transformation. That’s the only celebrity gossip I can follow,” writes TyreseGibson.
- “I hope it’s Lies of P,” shares Chekonjak.
- “Some indie games and older titles can be played for 5-6 hours [on the Steam Deck],” adds N7even – although it can be seen in the video that the console is plugged into power.
- “10 hours! I can’t imagine sitting in that chair for 10 hours, then acting for a few hours, and repeating the whole thing the next day,” comments bossyman15.
Some users are also speculating about the bright case and sharing links to various shops that offer similar models. However, it is not entirely clear whether it is indeed the shown model.
What is clear is that the community always enjoys when a prominent person turns out to be a gaming enthusiast. Several other actors have already shared their passion with the public, the most famous being Henry Cavill, who plays not only WoW but also Witcher or Warhammer.
