In Fortnite there is currently the “14 Days of Summer” challenge to find a tiny rubber duck from the loading screen. However, the little duck is causing big problems. Apparently, only one player per match can find the little rubber duck in Fortnite.
This is the challenge: Yesterday the task was to find a “tiny rubber duck from the loading screen.” This is the 13th task of the “14 Days of Summer Challenges”.
The challenge was already funny because everyone assumed beforehand that one would have to find a shell. Apparently, Epic changed this challenge at the last minute.
Where do I find the duck? We have explained all this in a guide, it is way down south on the map. It is not a problem to find the bathtub with the duck in it.
But those who arrive there are often disappointed.
The problem with the tiny rubber duck in Fortnite
What is the problem? The problem is that not all players can loot the tiny rubber duck. The challenge seems to be buggy.
It looks like the challenge can only be completed by one player per match. Only the first player per match gets the little rubber duck.
Anyone trying to loot the duck after the first player will come up empty.
This is what Epic says: They say the challenge is harder than expected. They are working on fixing the challenge in a few days.
New limited-time mode as a solution
This is how players cope: Players give other tips (via reddit), on how you can solve the problem in Fortnite already:
- If you play in a “Limited Time Mode”, your chance of grabbing the tiny rubber duck alone is higher – the fewer players in the mode, the better.
- Another tip from a reader of the “MeinMMO” Facebook page for Fortnite is to do the challenge with four people and activate group assistance. This also increases the chance of completing the quest in one go.
Others say that the problem will simply resolve itself over time as more players loot the tiny rubber duck in Fortnite – then it will not be so coveted anymore.
There have been previous challenges where players competed against each other, as only one per match could solve a specific item for the challenge. With the rubber duck, it is also the case, but that was not planned by Epic.
