The Winterfest Event: 14 Days of Christmas in Fortnite was supposed to start on December 17, but that didn’t happen. So when does the event start now? We’ll show you what leaks there are and what we can likely expect.
When could the event start? Since today, on December 18, the update 11.31 is supposed to be rolled out in Fortnite, the Winterfest event will likely start after the downtime for the update.
However, this could still change. We will keep you updated as soon as there is more information.
What can we expect from the Christmas event?
Are there any hints about the content of the event? Some data miners have found data from the game that is related to the Christmas event. Challenges have been found and even a very special lobby in a Christmas theme.
A Fortnite lobby like never before?
What has been found? The data miner HYPEX posted a video on Twitter showing the Winterfest lobby:
The video shows a Fortnite lobby that we haven’t seen before. It is quite obvious that it will be possible to interact with various objects in the lobby, such as the winter cabin.
In the cabin, you can also click on various things like the campfire or various gifts. These gifts will probably be the rewards for the Winterfest challenges.
What Winterfest challenges could we expect?
It’s likely that a 14-day Fortnite event will be held, similar to last year, which had 14 challenges like in the previous year.
The data miner iFireMonkey posted the possible challenges on Twitter:
These are likely the challenges for the Winterfest event:
- Search for Christmas stockings in the Winterfest cabin
- Light a campfire
- Eliminations with weapons from the vault
- Hide in a snowman in various matches
- Warm up at the campfire in the Winterfest cabin
- Dance by Christmas trees at various named locations
- Search a chest within 60 seconds of jumping from the Battle Bus
- Use gifts!
- Open frozen loot
- Deal damage to an opponent with a piece of coal
- Destroy a snowman with a lightsaber or a pickaxe
- Search ice boxes
- Light a frozen firework at beaches in Sweaty Sands, Craggy Cliffs, or Dirty Docks
- Search ammunition crates at the workshop, Shiver Inn, or the Ice Throne
Presumably, like last year, we will receive a new challenge every day. By completing the tasks, items themed to Winterfest will be unlocked.

Epic Games also announced on their official page that this year we will receive even more content, gameplay features, and free rewards for the Winterfest event. However, what exactly these will be is still unknown.
What do you think? Are you excited for the Winterfest event?
