Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) has introduced a new weapon to the game with the “Suppressed Assault Rifle”. But how good is the new gun and how does it compare to the regular Assault Rifle?
What is the Suppressed Assault Rifle? This new weapon came with Patch 5.4. Therefore, the extremely popular Drum Gun was removed, which angered many players. Thus, the new gun has a very tough start.
What can the new rifle do? The Suppressed Assault Rifle is silent, has a 30-round magazine, and deals 32 to 33 damage. You can find the weapon only in Epic or Legendary quality.
So it has to face the comparison with the “golden SCAR”, the high-end version of the regular Assault Rifle. After all, the two weapons are otherwise largely identical.
Suppressed Assault Rifle vs. Golden SCAR – Which weapon can do more?
This is what the golden SCAR can do: This rifle was for a long time the number 1 in the game until it was displaced by the new spray meta among other reasons. Especially the Tommy Gun was usually superior to the Assault Rifle.
The SCAR is ideal for: Nevertheless, the SCAR, which is the Assault Rifle in Epic or Legendary, is a strong weapon. It deals 35 to 36 points of damage and has a rather tight bloom. This refers to bullet deviation. So you can keep firing, the weapon will usually hit.
This is what the Suppressed Assault Rifle can do: This weapon deals slightly less damage. But it is much more accurate at long range. So you can pick off enemies from a distance with the new weapon.
The new rifle is ideal for: For precise kills from a distance, use short bursts, definitely not full auto! However, you will have a weapon that many players refer to as a “laser” because the shots hit exactly where you aim. Additionally, it is silent at a distance, so you can snipe enemies from the bushes who have no idea where you actually are.
The ideal weapon for spray deniers
So if you like to proceed tactically and thoughtfully and have no interest in spraying, you should definitely pick up the new gun. You can find a video comparing the two weapons here.
What do you think of the new weapon? Have you had good experiences with it, or are you still upset because you wanted to keep the Tommy Gun?
