To Fortnite: Battle Royale the new patch 8.51 has been released. It features shadow bombs and a cool new weapon for PvE.
This is included in the new update 8.51: The patch 8.51 is rather modest. It brings only one main highlight: a shadow bomb for PvP. You can find all other new features from the latest update for Fortnite in the following paragraphs.
The features of the patch 8.51 in PvP
New weapon – Shadow Bomb: This item is a portable version of the shadow stones from Season 6. You will become invisible, faster, and can perform double jumps with them.
- Duration: 6 seconds
- Rarity: Uncommon
- Max charges: 6
When the effect of the bomb is active, you cannot attack, build or harvest resources. Towards the end of the effect duration, you will already be easier to recognize.
Gameplay changes and bug fixes: Only one audio glitch with the jetpacks was fixed, which was louder than intended.
What changes in Creative Mode: In Creative Mode, alongside the new shadow bomb, there are now also pre-built objects for restaurants and diners.
The patch highlights of update 8.51 in PvE
New weapon – Duet: This cool new weapon in Save the World is a rifle with two barrels. It also has a drum magazine for extra firepower.
The Duet is available in the weekly shop from May 2 at 2:00 AM to May 9 at 2:00 AM our time.
There were likely no further changes in patch 8.51. However, some updates may have happened behind the scenes and there might soon be a new phase of the end-of-season event for Season 8 with the volcano and the mysterious bunker as well as the selection of returning items from the vault. New items in the shop should also be coming soon.
