To Fortnite: Battle Royale Update 7.01 has finally been released. See here in the German patch notes what has changed. There is a new mode and a new weapon.
This is what’s in the new Update 7.01: The big highlight of the first content patch for Season 7 is the new, unique weapon “Infinity Blade”, the sword of the Ice King.
Additionally, there is a new shotgun game mode and changes to Creative mode. Also, you can expect a new rifle in the PvE mode.
The features of Patch 7.01 in PvP
New Game Mode – Close Encounters: The jetpack mode is back. This time there are only shotguns and the storm moves faster.
New Weapon – Infinity Blade: The sword from the teaser is not a new mode, but can be found regularly at Polar Peak. There is only one sword per match. It has the following properties:
- It destroys buildings with one hit and inflicts 75 damage on players
- The alternative fire button lets you jump forward, destroying everything in your path and inflicting 25 points damage upon landing.
- Whoever picks it up gets full health and shields of 200 points each.
- Per second, you heal one point of health or shield
- Kills give you 50 health back
- Your movement speed is 130 percent.
- When you pick up the blade, you drop everything else in your inventory.
- If you die, you drop the blade

What else changes in Fortnite? Additionally, you now take 25 points damage when your airplane is destroyed.
This is changing in the Creative mode: You now get a 5th island that has the exact dimensions you need for the submissions for the “Block”. Additionally, there are more changes:
- There are 4 featured islands that are currently very popular. You can visit and check them out
- You can share codes of your islands so that everyone can see them
- There are new pre-built structures
- You can set respawn points
- You have even more settings options and bugs have been fixed.
The patch highlights of Update 7.01 in PvE
New Weapon: The Ralphie’s Revenge rifle is back in the weekly store. It is a rifle with good accuracy and massive headshot damage. It is available in the shop from December 12 to December 19.
