The update is finally here in Fortnite. We show you in the German patch notes what has changed in Chapter 2 of Fortnite.
What does the update bring? Today, a new chapter will start in Fortnite. Chapter 2 Season 1 (previously called Season 11) brings a new season with a new battle pass, skins, new weapons, and a new leveling system.
Fortnite hasn’t released a large list of patch notes this time as usual, but instead presented the most important new features.

What does the new season bring?
- As with every season, there is a new battle pass with over 100 rewards that you can unlock.
- A new map with 13 locations
- An XP system with medals that can be unlocked in the game
- Water gameplay
- New group emotes
- Improved team support
- Weapon upgrades through material exchange
Weapons and Items
The following weapons and items are new:
- Bandage Bazooka: Looks similar to the mini-gun but uses bandages as ammunition. You can heal your teammates with it.
What’s new in gameplay?
The XP system and medals: You can now earn experience points and medals in the game. By eliminating or farming enemies, these points are unlocked.
New water gameplay: The water is now a usable area. You can swim, fish, and drive boats in it.
Improved team support: If a team member is down now, you can carry him on your back and take him to a safe place.
What’s new in Creative Mode
Featured Center: In the featured center, you will find your saved creations and also featured games from the community. You now also have the opportunity to submit your works for presentation.
Haunted house prefabs: Creepy prefabs for Halloween have been added. You can build your own haunted island. Included are:
- Haunted villa
- Haunted creatures
- Haunted observatory
- Haunted house
Castle device and condition button: With these devices, you can build a key-lock system. The operation button serves as the key that opens locked doors. The doors are controlled by the lock device.

What to expect in the coming weeks:
Week 1 (15.10):
- New costumed soldier
- Plague doctor Igor returns
- New measures against inactive benefiting from game progress
- Wild West llama
Week 2 (22.10):
- Haunted hotel quest line
- New spooky explorer
- The gravedigger returns
