The update 11.01 is here in Fortnite and we show you a major change that will completely alter the leveling system.
What did the update bring? The update likely brought some bug fixes. What has changed in the game is not clear because Epic has not released any patch notes.
However, we are already aware of a significant change. It concerns the leveling system and may please some players.
Leveling will finally be easier
How does the new leveling system work now? After the update, the distribution of experience points has been significantly increased. When performing certain actions, you now receive much more XP than before.
When you open a chest, you now receive about 800 XP (previously 263 XP)
When you open an ammo crate, you now get about 700 XP. (previously 244 XP)
So you receive more than double the amount of experience points. This should make leveling up in the Battle Pass much easier now.
Weekly challenges provide more XP? The dataminer iFireMonkey posted on Twitter that there will likely be an increase in XP rewards from the next weekly challenges.
Instead of 14,000 XP as a reward per task, you would now receive 54,000 XP.
This way, you could unlock a new tier in the Battle Pass much faster. You would need only about 2 challenges to unlock a tier.
What was the leveling system like before the update? After players noticed how difficult it was to level up in the Battle Pass, there will finally be a solution for it now.
To level up in the Battle Pass, you need about 80,000 XP. There are various ways to collect experience points, such as:
- In a match, by opening chests and ammo crates and eliminating or assisting in eliminating opponents
- Through the weekly challenges
A player calculated how long it would take to reach level 100 in the Battle Pass. It showed that Fortnite’s leveling system would be tedious and hard this season.
Furthermore, there were some other bug fixes in the game, which were mentioned by FortniteDE on Twitter. These issues have been resolved:
- FPS issues on PC
- Friends not appearing in the friends list
- Ready button not appearing until the whole squad was eliminated
- Issues with the “Eliminate an opponent from at least 50m away” challenge
- The daily medal card still showing after completion
- Gift wrap that was not transferred when the battle pass was gifted
