In Fortnite: Battle Royale, a famous trick, the Double Pump, is instantly possible again. However, there’s a catch, and it’s not achievable for every player: the Double Pump only works on Mobile.
What is the Double Pump Gun trick? This legendary trick was the talk of the town in the first months of Fortnite: Battle Royale. By having two Pump Guns in your inventory, you could skip the reload animation by immediately switching to the second weapon right after firing.
This way, you could ignore the major drawback of the Pump Gun, which is the relatively long reload time between shots, and take down opponents quickly with two shots.
That’s why the trick was removed: The Double Shotgun trick was very popular among many players but hated by others. Opponents saw the Double Pump as a nasty exploit, while fans regarded it as the only legitimate use of the Pump Gun.
Consequently, there was much outcry from the pro-pump faction when Epic patched the trick. Since then, there have been regular demands in forums like “Bring the Double Pump back!“
This wish has now seemingly been fulfilled at least for some players.
How you can use the Double Shotgun again
As various users report, you can now use the Mobile versions of Fortnite to use the Double Pump Gun again. It seems that Epic has made the trick possible again on the iOS and Android versions.
Is the Double Pump Gun on Mobile intentional? There is no information regarding this. It was at least not announced as a feature. Of course, it is possible that Epic intentionally implemented the Double Pump on Mobile to create more action there.
However, it is most likely a glitch introduced by the latest update. In this case, the Double Pump should probably disappear again soon. So use it while it’s still possible and take down your opponents with massive Pump Gun power in close combat!
