Fortnite: Battle Royale has started into Chapter 2 Season 8. As the map has been thoroughly reshuffled, we are showing you here on MeinMMO the best landing spots where you can get plenty of loot, weapons, fish, and other goodies, giving you a strong advantage over your opponents.
How did we come to this assessment? Our analysis of the best landing points on the map in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 is based on our experiences in the game as well as research from the community on Reddit and YouTube.
These landing spots should be sought after at the start of the game
Where are the landing points? Here on the Season 8 map you can already see our top landing spots. You will find out in the following paragraphs what exactly makes them so good and what you should still pay attention to.
The Flip World Bubble
Where is the place? These new places are nasty domes that randomly appear at known POIs. When you enter the bubbles, you will be taken to a changed version of the respective area.
You can usually see at the start of the game on the map where the Flip World Bubble is located. Pay attention to the yellow circles.
What is so good about it? In the Flip World you can grab massive loot, including the special crystal fragment weapons that can be found here.
By taking out the AI opponents there, you will obtain fragments with which you can upgrade these powerful weapons. So if you rock the Flip World, you already have a great advantage early in the game.
What should you still pay attention to? The Flip World is swarming with monsters that will attack you. If you are not careful, the creatures will take you apart. Also, you are not alone, as other players might also join in.
You will be fighting against the monsters and regular human opponents. So watch out that no one sneaks up on you and remember this: In the Flip World, building is prohibited!
Crash Sites of the Alien Ship
Where is the place? Across the map, there are several crash sites where fragments of the destroyed alien mothership have crashed.
You can already see them on the map by their orange-purple coloring. There are a total of 7 crash sites (counting those at Sludgy Swamp and Weeping Woods as individual zones).
What is so good about it? First of all, the crash sites are heavily stocked with loot. The density of chests and other useful things is always high here. For that reason alone, landing here is worth it, but there’s more.
In addition, you can find small cubes at the wreckage. They operate similarly to those from the first big Halloween event.
When you collect them, you will become a type of spirit that is well camouflaged and ideal for nasty deception maneuvers.
But what good is the best loot if you can’t get away in time and the crash sites are unfortunately all located at the edges of the map?
The pink slides provide relief. With them, you can quickly change your position and bring yourself and your loot to safety when the zone comes or the opponents become overpowering.
What should you still pay attention to? The camouflage cube items are certainly not reserved for you, and some sneaky opponents may have already acquired such a mini-Kevin.
So don’t rely on the fact that a seemingly empty area is truly abandoned and solitary. Invisible opponents might already be lurking for you!
Moreover, the terrain is winding and confusing. Your opponent doesn’t even need the camouflage cube in such places to sneakily ambush you. So pay special attention to such confusing corners.
Lastly, there is also the banal danger of falling while looting or fighting among the wreckage and smashing to the ground. So watch out!
Coral Castle
Where is the place? Coral Castle is located in the northwest of the Fortnite island. The POI is dominated by water. It is a large area, with the POI Believer Beach to the south and a crash site to the east. So landing here is worthwhile in multiple ways.
What is so good about it? Coral Castle is remote, which can be an advantage depending on the Battle Bus’s flight path. If it is far away from the flight path, you can loot there in peace and usually have fewer opponents on your tail.
If you’re already there, you can also break down the fish statues. This gives you valuable stones that you might later need to secure yourself through wild building.
Another reason to visit this picturesque location is that there is plenty of fish. If you enjoy fishing, then treat yourself to a few rounds with the rod, as you will find a large number of health and shield fish here.
The appropriate skin for this region is, by the way, the cartoon fish skin that you can paint to your heart’s content.
What should you still pay attention to? The remoteness of this place is not just an advantage. If you linger too long and want to loot every hidden chest or really fish every single fish out of the water, the storm will soon be on your tail.
If things go wrong, you may burn up with all your collected loot in the zone, or some schemer might shoot you on the way because you weren’t paying attention in your panicked escape.
This danger is further heightened by the fact that the POI is permeated by water, which slows you down and hinders quick escapes. So really keep an eye on the time you have left and better add some extra time before you end up being a storm victim. That really doesn’t have to be!
It’s also bad: In the water, there are sharks that can also munch on you if you’re not careful or if you’re already weak while retreating!
Zero Point Crater
Where is the place? The crater where the tower used to be stands at the very center of the island. The area is covered in purple crystals, and in the middle of the crater, a lake has formed.
What is so good about it? This place is easily accessible due to its central location and has a good density of loot, chests, and weapons.
Since the place is exactly in the middle of the map, you can head to almost anywhere else on the island from here and have many options for your further actions in the game.
The location of this place also ensures that there will likely always be someone landing here, and if you enjoy early action, you can quickly grab some first kills. But don’t overdo it, and rather retreat to other POIs if half the lobby seems to drop here!
Last but not least, this water-rich place is a good spot for fishing. So if you’re drawn to the fish, feel free to cast your rod once the first opponents are taken down.
What should you still pay attention to? The central location ensures that you’re rarely alone here. If you want to loot in peace and are not keen on action at the start of the game, you might want to find another POI, like the remote Coral Castle.
As with Coral Castle, it may also happen here that biting sharks show up in the water and nibble on you. This can kill you if you’re not careful and are already weakened by other battles. So be careful here if a treacherous fin peeks out of the water.
Also problematic: The POI is quite flat and offers little natural cover. So if you don’t have much material for building yet, you might be defenseless in the open and get shot down. Make sure your opponents don’t surprise you and take you in crossfire.
Insider Tip – House East of Craggy Cliff
Where is the place? East of Craggy Cliff, located right at the southern curve of the road, is a house on a hill. It is also worth a visit.
What is so good about it? This inconspicuous place is remote and surely won’t be frequented by a large number of opponents. You will find a considerable number of chests and other loot there.
Especially in the basement, there are Slurp barrels, resources for mining, and always a bit of gold in the mattresses.
Behind one of the shelves in the basement, there is also a secret door that leads you to a mysterious room with a podium. What it is about will probably be revealed during the season.
What should you still pay attention to? The house offers solid but not exceptional loot. It is also far away from the action, and you might be longer on the road when you want to leave.
