What happens during an update? Today, Epic Games is taking the servers down for maintenance. You will not be able to play Fortnite during the downtime, so be prepared.
This time, according to leakers, no new content is expected in the update. This patch is supposed to fix bugs that crept in with the release of Chapter 5 Season 3. You can find out when you need to expect downtime and how long it will last with us.
Fortnite: Start and Duration of Server Downtime
Server Down in the Morning – What you need to know: Epic Games announced its server downtime for Fortnite and set it at 10:00 AM German time. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes before the servers go offline – so you won’t be able to start new rounds during that time.
When will the servers be back online? That depends on the size and scope of the update. If there are no complications, you can expect about an hour of downtime. However, it could also be that the server downtime doesn’t end until around 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM. We will keep you updated in that case.
When will the patch notes be released? Epic Games is currently only sporadically releasing its patch notes for the “Battle Royale” mode. If available, they will only be released after the downtime. We will list the patch notes as soon as Epic Games has released them.
