What happens during an update? On June 22, Epic Games will shut down the servers for maintenance. You will not be able to play Fortnite during the downtime, so be prepared.
This time, a new mode is expected in Fortnite. Fortnite: Reload is said to bring back a smaller map with familiar POIs like Tilted Towers, Pleasant Park, and Loot Lake. You will find out what the update includes and how long the downtime is with us.
Fortnite: Start and duration of the server downtime
Server down in the morning – What you need to know: Epic Games has announced the server downtime for Fortnite and set it for 6:00 AM German time. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes before the servers shut down – so you won’t be able to start new rounds during this time.
When will the servers be back online? This depends on the size and scope of the update. If there are no complications, you can expect a two-hour downtime. However, it could also be that the server downtime will not be resolved until around 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM. We will keep you updated in that case.
When will the patch notes be released? Epic Games is currently only sporadically releasing its patch notes for the “Battle Royale” mode. If they are available, they will only be released after the downtime. We will list the patch notes as soon as Epic Games has published them.
What contents could be released with update 30.20?
Some information about new collaborations has already leaked, and it is believed that “Pirates of the Caribbean” will join Fortnite. However, what you can expect exactly is listed here (via x.com):
