Today, on April 11, the servers will go down on all platforms (PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Android) in Fortnite. The maintenance will be used to load Update 24.20 onto the servers.
What is happening today in Fortnite? Epic Games is taking the servers down for Season 2 Chapter 4. The update will likely prepare items related to Attack on Titan, the latest anime collaboration.
Two new skins and a special weapon have been leaked. When you can play again and what else you can expect, you can find out from us.
What new content does the update bring?
Eren Yeager and his collaboration have started: Attack on Titan meets Fortnite. Epic has activated new quests to unlock Eren Yeager. You can now secure the skins with his items, provided you have the Battle Pass.
Additionally, Epic Games has added the following items to the game:
- 3D Maneuver Gear
- Thunder Spears
- Survey Corps Crates
Additionally, you can visit the Hunter’s Den in the Anvil Square on the Chapter 4 Season 2 map and find secrets there. However, the location is secret.
Free rewards for everyone: In week 5, you can complete quests related to Thunder Spears. As a reward, you will receive two items:
- Spray design “Determined Mikasa”
- Emote “Levi’s Dark Glare”
The vault provides a familiar vehicle: Epic has opened the vault and revealed the all-terrain motorcycle. With this vehicle, you can traverse gravel and uneven terrain more easily.
BALANCE ADJUSTMENTS
- The pocket bunker has been removed from the vault for Zero Build.
- A rare Kinetic Blade has been introduced. This rare variant deals the same damage as its epic counterpart but only has two charges for the sprint attack. You can find rare Kinetic Blades on the ground and at Kinetic Blade Holders.
- The maximum headshot damage of the mythic Havoc Pump shotgun has been reduced.
- The accuracy and fire rate when hip-firing the mythic Overclocked Pulse Rifle have been reduced.
- In the Trio and Team formats, the number of mythic Overclocked Pulse Rifles that can be picked up from a rift-landed location has been reduced.
- In the Trio and Team formats, the number of mythic Havoc Pump shotguns that can be found in vaults has been reduced.
COMPETITIVE NOTES
- Thunder Spears are not available in Arena and Tournament matches.
- All-terrain motorcycles are not available in Arena and Tournament matches.
IMPORTANT BUG FIXES
- A problem was fixed where players still received a healing effect even after leaving a hot spring.
- A bug was fixed where newly spawned players were sometimes invisible to their teammates.
Fortnite: Server Down – When and how long are they offline?
This is the downtime in the morning: According to Epic Games, the servers are expected to shut down at 09:00 AM German time to install a hotfix. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes beforehand, so you will not be able to search for new rounds from 8:30 AM.
When can you play again? This is a major update. It is likely that Epic Games will bring the servers back online at 11:00 AM or even at 1:00 PM. However, this is not confirmed.
When are the patch notes coming? Epic Games usually releases a short list of patch notes on their site after the update. If that happens, we will list them here briefly and clearly.
What content might appear with Update 24.20?
