Today, on Wednesday, December 4th, the Fortnite servers will be taken offline on all platforms (PC/Mac, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, iOS, Android) for a new update. But what can players expect from the update?
What is happening today in Fortnite? Today a new update will be deployed in Fortnite that aims to improve some bugs and issues in the game. Fortnite Status announced update 11.21 on Twitter.
It also references the Fortnite Trello, where all issues in the game are listed.
However, before players can embark on their adventure, the servers will be taken offline as usual.
Update 1:55 PM: The update 11.21 is now available. We will show you in the German patch notes what has changed in the game.
Fortnite servers will be taken offline – when and for how long?
Downtime starts in the morning: At 9:30 AM German time, you will be able to join a new lobby for the last time. At 10 AM, the servers will ultimately be unreachable and Fortnite will be down.
How long will the maintenance take? Based on the experiences of the past weeks and months, the maintenance should be completed around noon.
However, technical problems or other delays may extend the maintenance. If this is the case, you will find out here.
When will the patch notes come? The petition for the return of patch notes, started by players, seems to have helped, as last week we received patch notes for the update 11.20 again.
So, there is hope for today that we will receive the patch notes as well. If they are released, you will find them here with us on MeinMMO, right after the downtime.
What new content does patch 11.21 bring?
What new features will there be in Battle Royale mode? Fortnite Status referred in the tweet to the Trello board, where all current issues in the game are compiled. These issues could be addressed:
- Issues with DirectX 12 stability
- Sniper shots not registering properly
- Problems with the weekly challenge: Elimination without warning
All other issues and bugs that could be fixed can be seen on the Fortnite Trello.
What does the update bring for Save the World mode? For Save the World, there should be some changes and a new weapon. These things will likely change with update 11.21:
- Gameplay changes (based on community feedback)
- The use of the spinner, which is still in progress
- A new blade will be available in the shop
