Something is finally happening in Fortnite after the long wait. The servers are down, and a downtime for Fortnite Chapter 2 (formerly Season 11) has begun on all platforms. A patch of 15 GB is also available on PC – but the Fortnite patch notes are still missing.
What happened? After the live event that took place on October 13, 2019, all one could see in Fortnite was a black hole, and the game was no longer accessible.
Players have waited a long time to see when Fortnite would continue. Epic Games deleted all posts on Twitter and on their main page. Only a live stream of the event was still being broadcasted.
Now however, it might finally continue with Fortnite. A downtime is still ahead of us.
Downtime for Fortnite Chapter 2 finally started
When did the downtime start? Today, Tuesday, October 15 at 10:00 AM, the downtime started. If you were in Fortnite, you were logged out.
This is what it looked like:
When will the servers be back online? How long the maintenance will take is not yet known. However, since it is a completely new “season” being rolled out, it might take longer than usual.
How big is the update? The update is now available and is expected to be relatively large. The update for PC is said to be almost 15GB. The data miner FortniteBR posted this on Twitter:
What can we expect after the update?
What is in Fortnite Chapter 2? So far, you could see a trailer for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1. There we saw:
- A new mode of transportation – boats?
- A look at the Battle Pass skins
- A new leveling system
- The water could be usable terrain
- A new map
As soon as more information about the update is available, we will inform you here on MeinMMO. Then we will also see the patch notes for Fortnite Season 11.
