Fortnite – Server offline for maintenance, Update 4.1 brings Thanos in the mashup!

Today, on May 8th, the servers in Fortnite will go offline for maintenance as scheduled for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and iOS. A new patch will be deployed that will bring the Avengers mashup and raise the game to version 4.1. What will be in the new update? And when will Fortnite be online again today?

Since Season 4 started on a Tuesday, the maintenance schedules have also changed. Today, on Tuesday, May 8th, the Fortnite servers will be taken offline. The new update 4.1 will be deployed, which should bring new content and features.

• Matchmaking will be disabled around 09:30 AM
• At 10:00 AM German time (8 GMT), it will no longer be possible to start a game The servers went offline at 9:44 AM

When the maintenance work will be completed is still unknown. If no incidents occur, you should be able to log in again around noon.

What will update 4.1 bring for the Battle Royale players? Epic surprisingly announced a collaboration with Marvel’s Avengers yesterday, a mashup. Thanos is said to become the main character of a new game mode. The mode is called “Infinity Gauntlet” – whoever finds this gauntlet on the map,instantly transforms into Thanos and can cause all sorts of havoc.

Whether and in what form Epic will bring fixes or bug fixes is currently still unknown.

What can “Save the World” players look forward to? Epic recently released an updated roadmap on Reddit that we don’t want to withhold from you. PvE players can look forward to a new weapon today – the light machine gun.

Originally, a new hero was planned with update 4.1 – but this has been postponed to a future update. Here’s what to expect in the coming weeks in Fortnite: Save the World:

• Patch 4.2 (week around May 15th)
  • Perk Recombobulator™!
  • New, repeatable event quests
  • Quad Launcher
• Patch 4.3 (week around May 29th)
  • Blockbuster Event Part 2
  • Portable Fort as a usable item

Epic has announced that the patch notes will no longer be released simultaneously with the start of maintenance, but as soon as the new version has been deployed. This is to prevent announced features from not making it into the game due to problems – and thus causing discontent among players.
