Epic Games has now postponed the server downtime to Saturday. It will start at 08:00 AM German time. So you can still start enough BR games today before the plug is pulled. Therefore, we are ending the live ticker for today. (via x.com)

What happens with Patch 31.40? Tomorrow, Epic Games will shut down the servers for maintenance. You will not be able to play Fortnite during the downtime, so be prepared.
According to teasers and leaks, a major update regarding the “Fortnitemares 2024” event is being rolled out. New skins, weapons, and event files related to Halloween may be released.
Fortnite: Start and Duration of the Server Downtime
Server Downtime in the Morning – What You Need to Know: Epic Games has announced its server downtime for Fortnite and set it for 08:00 AM German time. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes prior to the shutdown of the servers – so you will not be able to start any new matches during that time.
When will the servers be back online? That depends on the size and scope of the update. If there are no complications, you can expect a two-hour downtime. However, the server downtime might not be resolved until around 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM. We will keep you updated in that case.
When will the patch notes be released? Epic Games currently only sporadically releases its patch notes for the “Battle Royale” mode. If they are available, they will only be released after the downtime. We will list the patch notes as soon as Epic Games makes them available.
