Among the challenges of Week 1 of Season 5 in Fortnite: Battle Royale, there is once again a special task. This time, you need to find seven floating lightning bolts. Here you will learn where the bolts are and how to collect them.
For Builders only: Week 1 of Season 5 starts off with a tricky challenge. You need to find seven bolts. They are located at fixed points on the map. However, not a single bolt is reachable without tools. You need to build to get to them.
Finding and Collecting Lightning Bolts – Here’s How
More than enough bolts: The bolts themselves are not particularly rare. You can find them at most named locations in the game. Overall, you will find far more than the required seven pieces for the challenge. In the following map, you can see some of the known locations.
But be careful: As mentioned before, the bolts are located far above the ground. They cannot be reached easily. And since you have to actively collect them with the action button, you cannot scoop them up while dropping past them. So it’s no use – you have to build ramps and platforms to grab the bolts.
Secure first, then build: Therefore, it is advisable to first secure the area and then collect the bolts. Otherwise, you may end up standing openly on a platform while a tryhard sneaks up on you during the bolt hunt.

Here we have a list for you where you can see the exact locations of some bolts. This way you should be able to find them faster and complete the challenge in no time:
- Paradise Palms: On the western edge next to the lonely skyscraper
- West of Tomato Town: North of the plateau over the river
- Retail Row: In the middle of the western part of the settlement
- Tilted Towers: Right in the center
- Greasy Grove: Also right in the center
- Loot Lake: Above the water at the dock in the north
- Dusty Divot: In the center
- Where the motel used to be west of the former Anarchy Acres
- Lonely Lodge: By the tower
- Flush Factory: Near the factory
- Snobby Shores: Near the rocket base
- Wailing Woods: At the hills in the northwest
- Junk Junction: Above the huge llama in the north.
- Lucky Landing: Above the temple in the northeast
Collect seven of these bolts and you will secure the challenge and five stars in the Battle Pass. Have fun searching, building, and collecting!
