By using a simple Fortnite emote, players gain advantages as they can hide. Will Epic nerf the emote?
The emote system in Fortnite has many fun poses available. This includes the Flippin’ Sexy emote, which players can now use to their advantage. This pose allows characters to lie down – something that cannot be done without an emote.
Will Flippin’ Sexy Become a Must-Have?
Those who spend money in Fortnite Battle Royale don’t actually gain any advantages over non-paying players. All items from the Battle Pass are cosmetic. This includes new gliders as well as emotes or skins. Besides fun appearances, this content should ideally have no impact on gameplay.
However, the “Flippin’ Sexy” emote is somewhat different. This emote was only available for a short time and gives players an advantage in Fortnite. By using the emote, the executing player jumps into a “sexy” pose, with the character lying on the ground, supported by one hand on the hip. A shot can end the execution of this emote immediately.
The special thing about it is that players actually can’t lie down in Fortnite. However, this emote allows players to hide behind low cover without their upper body being visible. This surprises opponents, who do not expect lying characters in the game. Suddenly, a player jumps out from behind cover, draws the shotgun, and has the element of surprise on their side.

When creating this emote, the developers at Epic Games probably didn’t anticipate that the fun emotes could provide a tactical advantage in combat.
It still remains questionable whether Epic will nerf this emote now and change its handling. If everything stays the same, players will likely rush to the in-game store when the Flippin’ Sexy emote becomes available again.
