Fortnite introduces a weapon in the new season that is way too strong and reminds the community of a hated item.
Which weapon is it? With Fortnite x Marvel Absolute Doom Chapter 5 Season 4, you get a new weapon pool, which also includes Captain America’s shield. As known from Marvel, you can defend yourself with this powerful shield, but also deal substantial damage.
Shortly after the start of the season, some frustrated players complained on social networks about the superhero’s shield, as it is indeed very strong.

What can the weapon do? As is customary for a shield, you are able to deflect attacks and protect yourself from damage. Additionally, you can throw the Captain’s shield at your opponents, just like in the Marvel movies. The shield is particularly effective due to the fact that it flies directly towards your enemies, making it easier to hit your competitors.
Moreover, the shield allows for quick dashes that also deal damage upon impact.
What horror does the item remind you of? Captain America’s shield has already been compared, just a few days into its introduction, to the hated ballistic shield from Chapter 5 Season 1. The ballistic shield was considered too strong by many players during its season, who now have to face a similar horror.
Unlike the Captain’s shield, with the ballistic shield you could both defend and shoot with a pistol at the same time. This made you hard to hit in the firefight while shooting at your opponents.
What do the players say? Some players are already wishing for a nerf for the shield and compare it to the poorly liked ballistic shield from the first season (via reddit). However, other players doubt that the shield is as bad as claimed.

Even in Chapter 5 Season 3, there was already a way too strong item that caused many players to despair and took the fun out of the game for some.
