In the meantime, you can listen to our podcast about the rise and fall of Fortnite:
Important Times for Server Downtimes Today in Fortnite – When and How Long is it Offline?
This is the downtime in the morning: The servers are expected to be shut down at 10:00 AM our time to install update 20.10. The matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes prior, so you won’t be able to search for new rounds from 09:30 AM.
When can you play again? The servers are usually offline for several hours during such maintenance, making it impossible to play. The downtime is expected to last between 30 minutes and 2 hours. The updates of the past weeks have shown this.
Of course, technical problems, bugs, and delays can always occur during such maintenance. If such complications arise, we will report them to you immediately here.
When will the patch notes come? Epic Games has long stopped publishing patch notes or provides very little information. However, community members usually find the changes quickly. If there are any important changes, we will also update this article for you.
What New Content Does Update 20.10 Bring?
What’s new for the Battle Royale mode? There are currently no specific statements from Epic Games regarding the content of patch 20.10. However, leaks and dataminers have often proven to be reliable sources in the past. The changes are official:
Unlocking Additional Styles and New Cosmetic Items
If you have treated yourself to the Battle Pass, you will also gain access to bonus rewards during the season. This tab in the menu is always equipped with a timer that shows when you can unlock the additional styles. Now that update 20.10 has been rolled out, you can admire the new content.
Shiina, a well-known leaker from Fortnite, summarized all the new cosmetic items in his YouTube video.
Return of the Heavy Sniper
Epic has brought a weapon out of retirement again. With the heavy sniper, you now have three snipers to choose from to eliminate your opponents from a safe distance.
New Donation Campaign – MK7 or Combat Assault Rifle?
You can now choose to donate your gold at donation boards in all major locations on the map. You can choose either the MK7 with targeting sight or the Combat Assault Rifle. The item that reaches 100% first will be added to the loot pool immediately.
Balance Adjustments in the Game
Epic has also made some balance changes. These are as follows:
- The damage of combat SMGs and submachine guns against players and structures has been reduced.
- The headshot damage of combat SMGs has been decreased to be more in line with the submachine gun.
- The damage of MK-7 assault rifles and combat assault rifles against players and structures has been reduced.
- Titan tanks and cow catchers have been removed from competitive game modes.
Additionally, several issues have been fixed:
- Wins are now correctly tracked in the career leaderboard tab.
- A bug with the resistance missions has been fixed that prevented players from progressing in week 2.
- A bug has been fixed where vehicles stuttered or drove unevenly when on flat terrain.
- The fishing collection is now no longer reset between matches and saves progress as intended.
- A bug has been fixed where last season’s missions appeared as tracked on the HUD when no other missions were being tracked.
- Players can now use the ziplines between the wind turbines on Windmill Island.
- To maintain optimal performance, Fortnite will now default to performance mode for certain legacy drivers and unsupported drivers.
Finally, Epic added competitive notes:
- The heavy sniper rifle is not available in competitive game modes.
- The winner of the vote between the MK-7 Assault Rifle and the Combat Assault Rifle will not be coming out of the vault for competitive game modes as soon as 100% is reached.
- No battles will take place at The Daily Bugle in competitive game modes, but Hunt Master Saber has still changed his position.
