In Fortnite, the servers are going down today, December 14, on all platforms (PC/Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, Android). The downtime will be used to roll out the new update 19.01. We will summarize all changes here at MeinMMO.
What is happening today in Fortnite? As already announced in Fortnite, there will be a server down with a patch following. This patch includes many new items, missions for XP, and especially the long-awaited winter event, which will bring numerous free gifts.

Fortnite servers are going into downtime – when and for how long?
Downtime in the morning: The servers will be shut down at 9:00 AM our time to roll out update 19.01. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes before, so you won’t be able to play from 08:30 AM.
When can you play again? The servers will be offline for a while and playing will not be possible, the downtime is expected to last between 30 minutes and 2 hours. This has been shown by the updates of the past weeks.
Of course, with such work, there can always be technical issues and delays. If there should be complications, we will report on it.
When will the patch notes be released? Normally, Epic Games releases little to no information about the update changes in the Battle Royale mode. These are often found by the community itself.
However, if important changes come, we will also update this article for you.
What new content does update 19.01 bring?
What’s new for the Battle Royale mode? We are not yet entirely sure about the changes, but leaks and data miners have proven to be reliable sources in the past. With these changes, you might expect:
14 Days of Fortnite: Shiina, a well-known leaker in the Fortnite scene, confirms the well-known winter event (via Twitter), which already brought many free gifts in 2020. This is set to start on December 16 and will revive the famous Nutcracker Cabin.

New Skins for the Shop
Epic has created some new and familiar skins for Christmas that will soon rotate through the winter shop. This includes a skin pack with Midas, Renegade Raider, and others.
Super Styles for Selected Battle Pass Skins
There will be additional styles for the Battle Pass skins again. However, you will only receive these after reaching level 100 in the Battle Pass.
Shield Sprinkler
As revealed in the trailer for the new chapter, the Shield Sprinkler has finally made it into the database. However, it is still unclear whether the new item can be used immediately after the server down.
The Winter Festival and the New Nutcracker Cabin
As in December 2020, Fortnite celebrated the winter event on a large scale. There were 14 gifts that could be opened each day, and additionally, you were invited to the Nutcracker’s cabin. There were many nice references to past times in Fortnite. Now all this is coming back.
