In Fortnite, a new weapon has been leaked by data miners. It seems to be so powerful that it’s almost scary. Here’s what we know about it.
Which weapon was leaked? Data miners found data about a heavy assault rifle that is supposed to come in epic and legendary rarity.
How much damage does the weapon deal? The heavy assault rifle is said to deal significant damage, especially headshots would inflict severe damage. Here’s how much damage it deals:
- Epic: Body-> 44 damage, Headshot-> 88 damage
- Legendary: Body-> 46 damage, Headshot-> 92 damage
These numbers clearly indicate that this weapon is indeed strong and causes enormous damage.
The data miner HYPEX posted the images of the heavy assault rifle on Twitter:
The post also mentions that a well-known weapon is likely to return to the game.
When will the heavy assault rifle be added to the game? This weapon has only been leaked and is not yet available in the game. Data miners found it in the files after the Update 11.20.
When and if it will be added to the game is still unknown. If it does come, it will likely be officially announced by Epic Games.

How is the community reacting? Some players have commented under HYPEX’s video about how powerful this weapon is. They don’t seem to be looking forward to the introduction of the heavy assault rifle. They write:
- “So getting hit in the head by a heavy assault rifle is almost like being hit by a sniper. The difference is only about 10 damage.”
- “And you think solos are bad now? Imagine your half shield disappearing after just one hit.”
- “Mmm, not strong at all…”
- “I can’t wait to hear all the aim assist comments.”
