In Fortnite: Battle Royale seems to be nearing the end for the notorious location Tilted Towers. There are solid indications that the legendary place will soon be destroyed. This time for real!
What are the clues about the end of Tilted Towers? Dataminers have uncovered several hints in the game files that point to an imminent end for Tilted Towers as well as Retail Row.
An event indicating a volcanic eruption was found. Glowing rock fragments will be scattered across the map, landing in Tilted Towers and Retail Row, where they will destroy the buildings and turn them into ruins.
These ash-covered ruins are also found as assets in the data and were spread via Twitter.
When will the end of Tilted Towers and Retail Row come? Should the predicted events – and there is little doubt about that – actually occur, this may well lead to the end of Season 8 and the beginning of Season 9.
Currently, players are steadily activating mysterious runes to open the bunker at Loot Lake. Each time a rune is activated, the volcano stirs more. An eruption seems like a logical consequence.
By mid-May, we should know more, as Season 9 will go online then.
Tilted Towers has always been in danger
This is the story of Tilted Towers: The end of Tilted Towers is a running gag in Fortnite. The place with the high-rises was a highly controversial location when it was introduced in Season 2.
There was a lot of loot there, but that resulted in an above-average number of players landing there at the start of the match, with only a few surviving the ensuing carnage.
This, in turn, led to a shortage of players in the mid-game and boredom. Therefore, many players quickly demanded “Destroy Tilted Towers!”.
The location has been threatened several times: When suddenly a meteor came closer in Season 3, many players thought, “Cool, Epic will wipe Tilted out!”.
But in the end, the comet only destroyed Dusty Depot and only one building in Tilted was smashed by a fragment. That building has since been rebuilt several times and seems to fall victim to some disaster again every season. Only in Season 8 has it so far miraculously escaped destruction.
The constantly recurring rumors about the end of Tilted Towers may soon come to an end if the data leak proves to be true.
Or is it perhaps just a gigantic trolling action by Epic, incorporating false assets into the code to prank the players? What do you think?
