In Fortnite: Battle Royale there will soon be even more skins from the Marvel Universe. According to a leak, a character is coming to the game who has actually been around since Season 3.
Which skin is it about? When Black Widow was first released as an official Marvel heroine skin in the shop, fans were very excited. For over a year, players have been hoping that Epic will finally make a deal with Disney and bring popular heroes into the game.
It seems that this is now the case, and after Black Widow, another Marvel hero is expected to arrive on April 30. According to leaks, it should be Peter Quill aka Star Lord, essentially the main character of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
What is included in the Star-Lord set? According to leaks, the Star-Lord set is supposed to contain similar items as Black Widow’s set:
- A pickaxe with a Guardians theme
- The skins themselves with variants. Most likely Star Lord with and without his helmet
- A back bling. Here fans are hoping for Baby Groot
- An emote, which is most likely his famous dance-off from the first Guardians film. In this, Star Lord defeats the overpowering villain Ronan.
That’s why Star Lord is actually already in the game: Until the release of Black Widow, it seemed that Epic had not been successful in licensing official Marvel skins.
Therefore, only skins that were inspired by famous heroes made it into the game. These included the Iron-Man lookalike Carbide or Lynx, who resembled a female Black Panther. And then there was the notorious Rust Lord.
This skin was introduced early in the Battle Pass of Season 3 and many fans on Reddit saw it as a kind of scruffy Star Lord. He wears similar clothes and scavenges junk, which is also what Star Lord did before his career as a Guardian.
Additionally, Rust Lord had a rather specific reputation, as he was considered a noob skin in Season 3. There was even a schoolyard fight because kids were calling each other Rust Lord.
So there will certainly be funny scenes when the original and the “clone” meet in the game.
Fans want even more Marvel skins
According to many fans, the two Marvel skins are hopefully just the beginning. Because there are still numerous heroes that players wish to see in the game. Currently, more Guardians are at the top of the wish list:
- Baby Groot must simply become a pet according to fans on Reddit!
- The pirate leader Yondu is also requested by many fans according to Reddit, but please with an umbrella as a glider because of the Mary Poppins quote.
