Leaks for Christmas 2020 in Fortnite: Battle Royale show the return of a powerful vehicle. Winter skins are also on the way.
When does Christmas start in Fortnite? It is currently assumed that Patch 15.10 will contain the start of the Winterfest 2020. The update is expected on Tuesday or Wednesday (December 15 or 16). However, the developers at Epic Games have not yet provided an exact start date for the event.
Planes for Christmas 2020 in Fortnite?
This is what the leak shows: On Twitter, content creator Happy Power shared a leaked video about Fortnite. He claims to have seen it from the well-known Fortnite streamer SPT083, who apparently shared the video in his stream.
The video clearly shows a plane flying over a snowy map. The map is planted with fir trees adorned with colorful Christmas ornaments. During its flight, the plane drops gifts.
Two new skins? Beneath the plane, two characters can be seen hiding in the snow behind the fir trees. These are likely skins that could be unlocked for Christmas. One is a candy cane with a mustache and a nasty-looking snowman.
Why is the plane powerful?
This is the story: Since its release, Fortnite has seen many new vehicles. These include planes like the X-4 Stormwing, which returned in Season 7 of Chapter 1. This is a biplane.
The planes offered a completely new gaming experience with dogfights in the air. However, fans quickly demanded nerfs. The vehicles were simply too powerful:
- Co-pilots could easily fire downwards from the plane
- The pilot had a minigun with unlimited ammunition
- The planes could simply crash through buildings and destroy them without taking damage
Fortnite had to nerf the overpowering planes. Eventually, they were completely removed from the game.
As data miner Twea shows on Twitter, the biplanes are likely coming back for Christmas. In the tweet, you can find the line with the name SantaBiplaneVehicle.
Keep in mind that it is still unclear if the planes will really come into the game for Christmas. Until Epic Games officially confirms it, the Christmas plans for the game could still change.
