What kind of shotgun is this? The data miner HYPEX was able to find a new shotgun named: “Charge” in Fortnite’s data.
The new gun seems to be in the works and could be added to the game soon.
The new shotgun is supposed to be available in all rarities. You would find it quite often on the ground, in chests, and supply drops, unlike epic and legendary shotguns, which are much rarer.
The new shotgun’s strength
How much damage does the weapon deal? The data miner HYPEX could see in the files how much damage the shotgun is supposed to deal.
Body shots are supposed to deal 68 to 102 damage, depending on whether you hit a critical spot. The closer the shot hits the head, the higher the damage will be.
Headshots are supposed to receive a multiplier of 1.5. Therefore, the lowest damage would be -> 102 and the highest damage -> 153.
How long does it take to reload? The new shotgun is supposed to reload quickly. It will take one second to fully reload the ammunition.
How big is the magazine supposed to be? A magazine is supposed to hold 3 shots. You can fire them one after another before you need to reload again.
New shotgun better than the regular shotgun?
Which shotgun is better? In comparison, the new shotgun should deal more damage to the body. But for headshots, the regular shotgun wins. You can see the damage numbers of the regular shotgun at fortnitetracker.com.

The advantage of the new shotgun is the reload time. Here you only need 1 second. For the regular shotgun, it takes 6.3 seconds.
Additionally, the regular shotgun has a larger magazine with 8 shots. The new one would only have 3.
As another option, the new shotgun would certainly be good, but it cannot really compete with the good old shotgun.
In Season 10, there were so many shotguns that it was almost impossible to decide which one to take with you. Some were more popular than others. But when Epic announced the 5th shotgun in Season 10, players were not so excited about it. In Chapter 2 Season 2, this would only be the 2nd shotgun that could come into the game.
