Today, Fortnite is hosting a mini-event for the Irish National Day, St. Patrick’s Day. Currently in the shop on March 17, 2019, is Sgt. Green Clover. This rare Irish skin has received a new wrap and a back bling from Epic today.
This is what’s happening in Fortnite today: Today, Sunday, people around the world are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Traditionally, everything is dyed green for the day.
Fortnite takes every opportunity to celebrate, including Oktoberfest. Therefore, Epic is hosting a mini-event today, Sunday. So far, this is mainly happening in the shop of the game.
Additionally, there is a rainbow, and a special limited-time mode is planned.

This is what’s in the cash shop of Fortnite today:
- The highlight is certainly the rare skin “Sgt. Green Clover” – it was previously available only for St. Patrick’s Day 2018 and was likely available again in April 2018 – so this is a very rare skin
- The harvesting tool “Gold Pot” for 1200 V-Bucks is also on offer
- Additionally, there is the new wrap “Lucky Pattern” for 300 V-Bucks

- And the back bling “Lucky Coins” is also available today for 300 V-Bucks in the Fortnite shop

- Green is also the “Lucky Racer” for 1500 V-Bucks
- Additionally, you can throw coal around with the emote “Dublonenregen”
Sgt. Green Clover in the shop today – many were excited about it
What makes the Green Clover skin so special? The skin is among the “Oldschool” skins.
Some had even hoped that everyone who owns the old skin would receive a special variant – like with the Skull Trooper. But that hope for a free skin was disappointed.

How is Fortnite celebrating St. Patrick’s Day? A rainbow has appeared in the game since yesterday. It is purely cosmetic and simply looks nice. The rainbow is also a symbol of luck.
Additionally, Fortnite is reportedly planning a new mode where only “green” items drop. But this is still just speculation – the mode has not yet been officially announced.

Update 20:54: The mode has indeed gone live. The leaks were correct. The mode is called “Green Phase” and only green loot drops – unless you use the treasure map.
