In Fortnite , developer Epic has acknowledged a mistake. A particular skin package was actually exclusive to Nvidia graphics cards, but the skins were sold in the shop. Epic is now planning to make amends.
Where does the information come from? The report comes from a Reddit user who contacted Epic’s customer support. They acknowledged the mistake and promised compensation.
The site Dexerto has confirmed this information from Epic Games, they say.

This is the skin in question: It was a promotion by Nvidia from December 2018. They offered three graphics card bundles specifically for Fortnite.
A special skin package was tied to each of the three bundles:
- for the GTX 1060 bundle for €289
- for the GTX 1070 bundle for €429
- And for the GTX 10700 TI bundle for €479
The promotion is still running with some partners, although prices are now significantly cheaper.
At the time, it was suspected that Nvidia produced too many of these graphics cards to cover the crypto-mining demand but was left with the cards when the hype wore off.

This was the problem: In early March 2019, parts of the bundle suddenly became available in the cash shop of Fortnite. You could get the skin for about 1200 V-Bucks.
Players felt misled since they were promised that this specific Fortnite skin was exclusive to the graphics cards.

Alternative Skinset for Nvidia Owners Coming
This is what Epic says now: Epic admits to a mistake here. They sold items from the “Counterattack Set” in the cash shop, even though they previously stated that this set was exclusive to the Nvidia bundles.
Therefore, they want to grant all buyers of the Nvidia bundle a new variant of the “Counterattack” skin. Typically, this will take a few days.
In this way, Epic has previously tried to mitigate issues with duplicate skins.
Recently, it seems that mistakes regarding skins and the cash shop are increasing. But Epic always reacts:
