In Fortnite, the “Fortnitemares” have started. The event brings “Escape Rooms” that distribute rewards. We will show you how it works.
What is the Escape Room feature? As part of the new Fortnitemares, Epic also introduced a feature called “Escape Room.” This takes place partly in the game – the rest is done in the web browser.
What is in the Escape Room? In the Escape Room, you can earn four free rewards. These include cosmetics as well as XP.
- The first room brings the emote “Creepy”
- The second room gives you 20,000 XP
- Room 3 brings the spray “Octo-Eye”
- Room 4 gives you the paint job “Niterave” for weapons & co.
How does the Fortnite Escape Room work?
How to get the rewards: To participate in the Escape Room, you need to visit a special website. You can find the link to the Fortnite Escape Rooms here (via Escaperooms/Fortnite).
Here, you need to log in with the Epic account that you have linked to Fortnite. Once you do this, you unlock the first room.
This is a dark, barren room where according to the task “the trophies” are missing. You need to change that by completing tasks.
However, you need to go into the game for that. You can only complete the tasks in the “Battle Royale” or “No Build” modes – regardless of whether in solo, duo, trio, or team.
The tasks are not particularly difficult at first glance. In the first room, the tasks are:
- Catch 30 fish
- Eliminate 10 opponents
- Be in the last 10 in 3 matches
Once you have completed that, you receive the respective room reward and unlock the next room. You can directly check your progress on the Escape Room page to update the statistics. However, there may be delays of up to an hour for the data to transfer (via Escaperooms / Fortnite).

Additionally, you will find a new claw weapon in werewolf style, for which you first need to perform a ritual. There is also a new horde mode and some other free items that you can earn through tasks. They combine the “Halloween” theme with the “Chrome” theme of the current season.
