Today, on Tuesday, March 2nd, the Fortnite servers went down across all platforms (PC/Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Android). During this time, the new update 15.50 was applied. In the patch notes, we now show you what has changed in the game.
What is happening today in Fortnite? Today, the update 15.50 is being applied in Fortnite. This was announced on Twitter by Fortnite Status. The patch is supposed to bring some changes.
Update 11:50 AM: The update 15.50 has now been applied. There were no major changes, but we have collected the most important new features for you and will summarize them here.

What is different now? Update 15.50 brought a few changes to the game that may not be immediately obvious. Here is what to expect after the download:
- The “Rapid Fire” SMG has been unvaulted
- Jelly and Rift fish are back in the game
- The Egg Grenade Launcher has been added – in rarities: rare, epic, and legendary
- LTMs: “One Shot (Duo)”, “Points Royale” and “Team Rumble: From the Vault” are back
- The Zero Point has changed – will it explode soon?
Players have noticed after the update that the Zero Point has visually changed. It now seems to absorb the aura around it. Could this be a preparation for the end of Season 5 and the start of Season 6?

Fortnite Servers Going Down – When and How Long?
Downtime Starts in the Morning: The downtime for update 15.50 starts today at 10:00 AM German time. At 9:30 AM, you can join a new match for the last time, after which the servers will go down and Fortnite will be temporarily unavailable.
How long will the maintenance take? Based on experiences from recent weeks and months, the work should be completed by around noon at the latest.
Technical problems or other delays could lead to an extension of the maintenance work. If this happens, you will find out right here on MeinMMO.
When will the patch notes come? Based on the experience of the last updates in the new chapter of Fortnite, it is likely that there will again be no or only superficial patch notes for the battle royale mode.
However, should major changes be applied, we will collect these for you and create a form of English patch notes. We will then publish them here on MeinMMO for you.
What new content does update 15.50 bring?
What new items will there be in battle royale mode? Fortnite Status has also presented a couple of new features in the announcement of the update on Twitter. These two things are sure to expect after the downtime:
- New weapons being unvaulted (Update 15.40 brought back the Flintknock)
- New island size in creative mode
The update 15.50 doesn’t seem to bring many changes – at least they weren’t announced. You will probably soon be able to experience the return of a few old weapons.
In a few hours, we will see what else is in the patch. Perhaps further hints about the crossover with Family Guy that players are still waiting for?
