Fortnite will go offline today, on 06.06.2019, on all platforms (PC/Mac, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, iOS, Android) to release a new update. How long will the servers be down and when can you log back in? MeinMMO has all the information.
This is what’s happening in Fortnite today: After you managed to avoid it last week, you will have to take a forced break today. As it stands now, however, it seems you won’t have to expect a longer downtime.

Fortnite servers will be shut down – When does it start and how long will it take?
When does the server downtime start? As far as the times are concerned, Epic is usually reliable. At 09:30 AM German time, you will have the last chance to join a new game. After that, you will not be able to open any lobbies so that no ongoing games need to be interrupted by the maintenance.
There is an exception this week for real-money purchases. They will already be disabled an hour before maintenance begins, which is at 09:00 AM. Epic refers to this as “additional maintenance.”
At 10:00 AM German time, the servers will be taken completely offline. Fortnite will no longer be accessible.
How long will the servers be down? Based on experiences from the last weeks and months, you should be able to log back in around lunchtime. If there are any delays or issues, you will of course be informed here – just like the patch notes, which we will make available to you as usual.
These contents will likely come with Patch 9.20!
What does the update bring for the Battle Royale mode? Not much is known yet, except for a new item, about whose functionality the community is engaging in heated discussions. What exactly the bottle will do will only become clear after the maintenance.
In addition, there will likely also be bug fixes this time. Among other things, there was a significant issue with the round object that caused damage when jumping from great heights after dropping out of the game. This problem will likely be a thing of the past with the current update.
What’s in Update 9.20 for Save the World players: For the PvE faction, there will be several new features this week, as Epic revealed in a current roadmap on Reddit:
- New floor trap
- New quest line
- New event Outlander
- New event llama that will replace the military llama
- New war game simulation that will likely involve lasers
- Archeolo-Jess returns
