In Fortnite today, on 04/17, the servers on all platforms
(PC/Mac, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, iOS, Android) will be shut down. A new patch is being deployed. How long will the servers be down and when will they be back up? MeinMMO has all the info!
What’s happening today in Fortnite? As in every week, the servers will be taken offline for maintenance. You will need to take a forced break. The new update 8.40 will surely bring new features as well.
When the servers will be taken offline and when they will be back up, you will find out now.
Where is the patch for Fortnite on iOS?
Update: Meanwhile, the problem seems to be solved.
Unfortunately, the new update is not available on all platforms. Players on Apple iOS still have to wait, as Apple has not yet certified the update according to Epic. On iOS, every update must first be approved by Apple, which apparently took longer this time.
This is understandably not well received by Apple players, who have been waiting for a statement for some time, as nothing has happened so far.
We can only hope that the certification process will be completed soon so that iOS players can join in again.
Fortnite servers going offline – when can you log back in?
The servers will be shut down at this time: You must have started your last round by 10:30 AM German time. The servers will be completely offline by around 11 AM.
When will the servers be back online? Unless there are unforeseen issues, the servers should be back online around noon.
If there are delays, you will find out as usual on MeinMMO. Just like the patch notes, which we will provide shortly after the start of server maintenance.
What’s included in the update for Battle Royale fans? The recently surfaced in-game message reveals that Fortnite will get new versions of the infantry rifle. So far, these have only been found in the rarities normal, uncommon, and rare. After the patch, you will also find the epic and legendary variants.
It is also rumored that Thanos could make his comeback. However, it is unclear if this will happen today already.
What’s included in update 8.40 for “Save the World” fans: PvE players can at least look forward to adjustments to a returning beta storm, as an Epic employee revealed on Reddit.
Additionally, today the following new content will arrive:
- 2 new, bunny-inspired heroes (Soldier, Ninja)
- Rabbit Raider Jonesy is back
- Easter egg launcher is back – shoots eggs instead of rockets!
What do you think of the update? Are you excited for new variants of the infantry rifle?
Update: We now have the patch notes for update 8.40.
