As in every week, today, on August 14th, the Fortnite servers on all platforms (PC/Mac, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, iOS, Android) will be taken down, and a new patch with version 10.10 will be released. How long will the downtime last and what does the update bring?
What is happening today in Fortnite? Season 10 is already a few days old, but there is not much discussion about the new map changes, instead the overpowering mech is making headlines these days. Will this change with today’s patch?
Update: The patch notes for update 10.10 are here. The Infinity Blade is coming back, zombies and Retail Row are back.
Even though it is not yet known that Epic will be making changes to the mech, the chances are high. The Fortnite creators usually respond quickly to player feedback. What we know: There will be maintenance and you will have to take a forced break. You will get all the relevant info now.
Fortnite servers going down – when and for how long?
You will be kicked out at this time: At 09:30 AM German time, you will have the last chance to start a Battle Royale round, after that this will no longer be possible.
At 10 AM German time, the servers will be completely down.
When will the maintenance be over? Experience shows that Epic usually needs little time for weekly maintenance. By lunchtime at the latest, you should be able to log in again.
You can pass the waiting time by reading the patch notes, which we will embed here shortly after the maintenance begins as usual. Here you will also find out if there are any unforeseen delays.
This could be the new content in update 10.10
What does the patch bring for the Battle Royale mode? Available information is scarce for the Battle Royale mode. The first “nerf” of the mechs does not go far enough for players. Could Epic make initial adjustments or completely remove the gigantic mechs today?
Furthermore, zombies are likely to make a comeback as well as the old Retail Row, as the following screenshot reveals:
What does the update bring for the Save the World mode: Even PvE players should get their money’s worth. According to the roadmap, the PvE faction can look forward to the following content:
- Thunder Thora is back!
- Penny takes on the role of the van driver this week
- A new weapon type comes into play with the submachine gun. The submachine gun is supposed to offer more flexibility and will be positioned between assault rifles and pistols. The exact effects on the heroes and their perks can be found in the patch notes as soon as they are available.
Are you looking forward to the new update? Or do you just want to get rid of the mech?
